I began working on this series in 2013. It was based on a trip to the Eastern plains of Colorado. I still find the plains a strong interest and my paintings explore the light and space that make the plains such a powerful experience.

After I completed the 20 paintings of the Journey Series of 2008-9 I worked on a range of primarily abstract work, in acrylic and oil. I continued to explore color and form while creating greater depth through glazing and layering techniques.

I completed 20 acrylic on canvas paintings in 2009, each 20" x20" which were displayed together in an exhibition. Each based on images from travel in Mexico, Costa Rica and Italy.
